Event Summary:
CIE/USA-DFW is proudly hosting the AAEOY Spring Technical Symposium in conjunction with the prestigious Asian American Engineer of the Year (AAEOY) Award event. The theme of the symposium is Discovery, Innovation and Education. We proudly invited Mr. Darrell Uchima, the Vice President and Senior Chief Engineer of Boeing Defense, Space & Security to be the keynote speaker of the event.
There will be 2 parallel tracks. The "Innovation and Leadership" track will feature the speeches of two highly accomplished engineers from Bell Laboratories and Texas Instruments to discuss their very successful career. Dr. Alfred Cho is known as the "father of molecular beam epitaxy" and earned the U.S. National Medal of Technology, the highest honor awarded by the President of the United States for technological innovation. Dr. Frantz was the TI's Principal Fellow and oftentimes referred to as a "serial innovator", who consistently scavenging for the next big breakthrough in DSP technology.
The "STEM and Education" track will feature the presentation of two established educators to enhance our next generation's STEM contributions to the society. Dr. Sinclair is the dean of Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS), a highly recognize institute to create "young scientists and engineers" by a focus on rigorous STEM courses and participation in state-of-the-art research. Mr. Chang is currently the program director of the Global Leadership Executive MBA (GLEMBA) at UTD School of Management. His three children graduate from MIT, Harvard, Yale and Cornell University respectively, and he will share his successful experience in develop your next generation to be a highly accomplished individuals.

The DFW Chapter of the Chinese Institute of Engineers, USA (CIE-USA) is proud to host the 12th Asian American Engineer of the Year (AAEOY) award ceremony on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Dallas, Texas.
The AAEOY Award is a National Engineers Week Program to recognize the outstanding Asian-American professionals for their leadership, technical achievements and remarkable public services in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
During the AAEOY recognition event, the Asian American community will also come together to celebrate the achievements of Asian Americans for their global stature and influence with the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award and Distinguished Science and Technology Award titles.
The annual AAEOY events are sponsored by industry leaders, national laboratories, technical communities, academia, government agencies and prominent US companies. Some 600 distinguished guests, honorees, corporate executives and community leaders are expected to attend the event in Dallas.
The 2013 AAEOY Executive Committee, representing the National Council of the Chinese Institute of Engineers, USA, will work with the community of Asian Americans, corporate sponsors, institutions and agencies to shine the spotlights on the national stage, and salute our heroes of Asian cultural heritage. |
