We have invited experienced speakers from Texas Dragon Toastmasters Club to present crucial techniques in public speaking\, including how to organize a speech\, how to use vocal variety and body language\, and more. Guest student speakers will give demonstration speeches that apply these techniques\, which will be followed by live evaluations from experienced evaluators\, including Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM).We will also explain the speech contest judging guidelines to prepare you for the upcoming contest on May 9th\, 2026. \nWhen: \n\nApril 25th\, 2026\, 2:00PM-4:00PM CDT\n\nWhere: UT Dallas Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science\, ECSS 2.415 \n \nTo become a YESC ambassador?\nThis program is designed to encourage leadership\, initiative\, and community spirit among our participants. This event has served the DFW community for over 10 years\, and each year it attracts over 100 students from 1st to 12th grades for the contest and hundreds of participants including parents\, educators\, and volunteers involving this event. \n \n \n\n\n\n\nRegistration details:\n(online only\, non-refundable) \nEarly Bird rate of $10 expires on April 30\, 2026 11:59pm CDT. \nRegistration fee will be $15 starting May 1\, 2026\, ending May 3\, 2026. \n \n\nFinancial Assistance Available:\nWhile the YESC committee strives to accommodate all requests for assistance\, please note that our resources for financial aid are limited. Low-income families are encouraged to reach out to our committee to inquire about the possibility of waiving the participation fee. A copy of the financial aid award letter or student ID.\n\nContest details:\nWho: All 1st to 12th graders (as of Spring 2025) in the DFW area. \nWhen: Saturday\, May 9\, 2026\, 12:45 PM – 5:00 PM CDT. \nCheck-in for the event begins at 12:45 AM. \nContestant briefing[MANDATORY] will begin at 1:35 PM. \nWhere: UT Dallas JSOM Davidson Auditorium \n  \n\n\n\n\nInformation about workshop:\nOne Free Workshop will be provided to help contestants prepare their speeches. All contestants are eligible for participating the workshop. The Youth English Speech Workshop is designed to help students learn core public speaking skills and gain an understanding of the criteria of a good speech. It also provides an opportunity for students to practice and enhance their speech skills. We have invited experienced speakers from Texas Dragon Toastmasters Club to present crucial techniques in public speaking\, including how to organize a speech\, how to use vocal variety and body language\, and more. Guest student speakers will give demonstration speeches that apply these techniques\, which will be followed by live evaluations from experienced evaluators\, including Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM).We will also explain the speech contest judging guidelines to prepare you for the upcoming contest on May 9th\, 2026. \nWhen: \n\nApril 25th\, 2026\, 2:00PM-4:00PM CDT\n\nWhere: UT Dallas Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science\, ECSS 2.415 \n \nTo become a YESC ambassador?\nThis program is designed to encourage leadership\, initiative\, and community spirit among our participants. We warmly invite each of you to share this contest with your friends\, classmates\, and peers\, and inspire more students to join this wonderful platform for learning and expression. \nBy participating in the Ambassador Program\, you not only help grow our community\, but also take on the role of a leader and motivator. The contestant who refers the highest number of students will be honored with the YESC Ambassador Award.
