On August 19th, CIE/USA-DFW Chapter will host a grand 2023 CIE Youth STEM Convention (CYSC) to the students. This convention combines two popular annual programs, the MathComp/MathFun (MCMF) and the Student Engineering and Creativity Convention (SECC). Every year, both of these flagship events of the CIE/USA-DFW Chapter’s Youth Program host nearly 1,000 participants including students, parents, educators, and volunteers. CIE/USA-DFW is committed to serving the local community and stimulating students’ interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields through creative competitions and fun events. The 2023 CYSC event aims to provide educational value for the entire family. Parents will have the opportunity to engage with esteemed professionals from the education and industry sectors, gaining valuable insights and knowledge. This year’s theme “RACE to the Future with AI” highlights the exciting and competitive nature of the AWS DeepRacer (TM) and how it drives innovation and advancement in autonomous driving technologies.

2023 CYSC will have five sessions:

    • Math Competition (Grades 1-8)
    • Math Fun
    • SECC (Grades 6 -12)
    • Parenting & Tech Seminar
    • Awards Ceremony

Each year, around 20 schools, companies, institutions, and organizations bring interesting math and engineering materials onsite and interact with the students. This is the fun part of the fair that students look forward to. Don’t miss this great opportunity to get your students involved in the wonderful world of math and engineering! MathFun is open to general public.

SECC

The CIE/USA-DFW Student Engineering and Creativity Convention (SECC) program is designed for all students in grades 6 through 12 to acquire interest in STEM through creative hands-on projects, real world challenges, and interaction with industry professionals. This STEM event supports the National Discover-E Engineers Week. The SECC consists of a series of programs: two free hands-on workshops and a competition. For the past four years, SECC has attracted huge interests from DFW 1st to 12th grade students. We are excited to announce the new theme and updated technologies this year. Hundreds of students have improved their coding and presentation skills from this event, and you can too!
