The Individual Outstanding Community Service Award (iOCSA) recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional, selfless commitment to serving their communities, serving as role models through sustained leadership and positive impact.
Award Ceremony & Recognition
- Date & Time: September 12, 2026 (VIP Reception)
- Location: Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott (8440 Freeport Parkway, Irving, TX 75063)
- Recognition: Formal ceremony and an official certificate from the City of Richardson, Texas.
- Note: Recipients are expected to attend and accept the award in person.
Eligibility Requirements
- Age: 21 years of age or older.
- Affiliation: Open to anyone (corporate, organizations, or independent). Membership in CIE/USA-DFW is not required.
- Exclusions: Members of the iOCSA Awards Committee are ineligible.
- Service Rules: Volunteer work must be performed outside of employment responsibilities, without monetary compensation or financial benefit.
Selection Philosophy & Pillars
Qualified nominees should demonstrate excellence in one or more of the following areas:
- Commitment to Service: A consistent, dedicated record of volunteer service.
- Community Impact: Meaningful contributions yielding long-term community benefits.
- Leadership & Inspiration: Mobilizing volunteers and setting an example of outstanding citizenship.
- Innovation: Creative programs or approaches that improve service effectiveness.
Judging Criteria
Nominations will be evaluated using the following criteria, listed in descending order of importance:

Tips for a Strong Nomination
Ensure your submission provides clear, compelling evidence, including:
- Specific Details: Concrete descriptions of the nominee’s service and leadership.
- Measurable Impact: Volunteer hours, individuals served, or funds raised.
- Supporting Evidence: Testimonials or letters of support from community leaders or nonprofits.
- Exceptional Dedication: Examples of going above and beyond or using innovative approaches.
Next Steps: Upon receiving a nomination, CIE/USA-DFW will contact the nominee to confirm participation. Consenting nominees will be asked to submit a brief biography highlighting their accomplishments for final selection.
