Keynote 1: Unleash Your Imagination – Innovation Opportunities for the Next Century
David Lu (VP, D2 Platform & Systems Development, AT&T)
2017 CIE/USA AAEOY (Asian American Engineer of the Year) Awardee
David Lu is currently responsible for development and engineering of AT&T next generation ECOMP platform and Open ECOMP (ONAP) to enable the AT&T network virtualization (SDN) and target OSS/BSS transformation including API, micro-services, policy control & orchestration, hyper-automation, and advanced data analytics.
Since joining AT&T Bell Labs in 1987, David has served in various leadership positions at AT&T. He holds 38 patents and has frequently appeared as a guest speaker at technical and leadership seminars and conferences throughout the world. David received numerous industry awards including the 2015 Chairman’s Award from IEEE Communication Society for Network and Systems Quality and Reliability and 2017 CIE AAEOY (Asian America Engineer of Year) Award. He has also been very active in community organizations and activities including AT&T APCA, CIE/USA-DFW, and DFW Asian American Chamber of Commerce. He was recognized by AT&T APCA with the 2015 Corporate Leadership Award.
David has an undergraduate degree in music, majoring in cello performance and graduate degree in Computer Science.
Keynote 2: Data Intelligence Enables Intelligent R&D
Tony Chang (VP, US R&D Competence Center, Huawei )

Tony Chang is Vice President of Huawei US R&D Competence Center and a Corporate R&D Tools Planning & Test Authority, leading the evolution and innovation of the company’s overall R&D model, methodology, tools, quality, global lab effectiveness and customer test partnership to improve the efficiency and TTM.
Since joining Huawei in 2008, he has led the R&D teams in building up the company-wide Test Automation, Test Case & Lab Standardization/SDE, Test Data Correlation Methodology, Advanced Product Verification Strategy/Methodology, Advanced Solution Integration Strategy/Methodology, Future R&D Ecosystem Operation Platform and Smart Delivery-JAD.
Prior to Huawei, Tony held various senior roles at Nortel Networks Inc. from 1987 to 2008 including Director of MCI Development & Deployment, Director of Carrier Verification, Sr. Director of Wireless Verification & Tools Developments and Corporate Test Environment Design Authority.
During his twenty years of research on testing and tools at Nortel, Tony has set up the company-wide Test Automation Platform, Global Lab Standardization and industry leading Test Process and Solution Integration Automations which improved the overall R&D efficiency, product quality, customer satisfaction and facilitated Nortel’s product competition.
Tony earned Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Fun Jen Catholic University, Taiwan, R.O.C.
Keynote 3: Forging Into the Future with Intelligent Machines and the Technologies that Enable Them
Seema Deshpande (Director, DLP Systems Technology Development, Texas Instruments Inc.)
2017 CIE/USA AAEOY (Asian American Engineer of the Year) Awardee
Seema Deshpande is Director of Systems Technology Development for Texas Instruments (TI) DLP® Products. She is responsible for the architecture, design and development of innovative products across projection, digital cinema, industrial and automotive applications. Seema manages a global organization of engineers responsible for the development of DLP products that support a wide range of applications including front projection and cinema, Pico projection, wearable displays, VR/AR, automotive head-up display, smart adaptive headlights, and 3-D printing.
Seema earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Karnataka University, India and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston, Texas.
